What’s New for 2025:
In the spirit of keeping the competition fun, and evolving with the sport, we’re updating a rule for 2025. Given that the technology has been widely adopted, the reference to the use of omni-directional sonar will be removed, allowing its use. The competition will remain unified, with no added categories or divisions in reference to sonar.
When this technology first hit the market, it was new, costly, and not widely accessible, so we asked teams to turn it off while giving everyone time to catch up while keeping the playing field level in the interim. As the sport has evolved and the equipment has become more common, it’s the right time to embrace the advancements that are shaping competitive fishing. We’re excited to see how this adds to the thrill of the tournament!
