August 22, 2009

Full Draw pulls up to the to the dock with flags flying.Today is the last day of fishing in the 2009 Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament. Eight boats are eligible to fish today: Backlash, Git-R-Done, Hunter, Playmate, Sea Toy, Sea Wolf, Water Dog and Waterman. In order to move into the Top 5, these teams would need to release between five and nine billfish - of course, all it would take is a really big blue…

96 billfish were released yesterday: 2 blue marlin, 13 white marlin and 54 sailfish. Full Draw (the last boat to enter the tournament) currently leads with 10 releases followed by Point Runner (8 on time), Big Oh (8 on time), Penta Gone (8 on time) and Bluewater (8).

The Tuna and Dolphin Divisions remained the same, Walker Harrington (15 years old) fishing aboard Smoker took over the lead in the Wahoo Division with his 42.8 lb. wahoo.

The current Top Overall Angler is Tommy Barton IV (9 years old) fishing aboard Git-R-Done with 4 sailfish releases, the Top Lady is Tricia Neill on Healthy Grin with 3 sailfish releases and Walker and Tommy hold the Top Junior positions in Gamefish & Billfish respectively.
